Customer Service Specialist

Hey guys,

NYC Transit and Mabstoa have a few customer service specialist positions open. My question is, how hard is it to get into these positions. The qualifications aren't that difficult ( high school diploma and 2 to 4 years customer service depending on the position or bachelors degree or associates) plus the salary is pretty decent for the job. Seems like a great entry level craft to get into the NYCT. Hopefully transit isn't as hard to get into like the LIRR. Anyone knows how long it takes for transit to reply to these resume positions? Opinions are welcome.

Confusing Train Operator Notice

My brother took the Train Operator test back in 2009 and scored 71. His number is over 10,000 on the list.

A few days ago, he received a notice in the mail that stated the following:

Congratulations. You have been found qualified in the education and experience test for:

Examination Title: TRAIN OPERATOR

Examination No: XXXX      Group No: XX

Why did they send him this notice, and what exactly does it mean?

Are they planning on hiring him anytime soon?

He took this test 7 years ago. Why would they be sending him this now, if not to hire him?

Has anyone else received this email? Also how many people do they usually contact to take the exam ? because i remember reading before that it was completely random on who they select to take the exam. Thanks

Just wanted to know if anyone would know the exact timeframe that an applicant would have wait to reapply for another B/O position with any division of MTA if they did not qualify within the 10 day training. Ive been told anywhere from 1 year up to 5 years. Then I was told there was is no waiting period as long as the new position is not the same as the one failed (MTA Bus for MTA Bus, MABSTOA for MABSTOA...etc).

Bicycle traffic ticket (employment process)

Hello, everyone! I have been at drug test already and received a 21 page booklet to fill in. Do I need to report my two pending tickets for bicycle in Traffic Conviction Section? I will have a hearing in January 2018 and I wasn't guilty so want to fight them. Does this can impact the employment? Also, my friend has a speeding ticket pending. He paid a lawyer and it was postponed till 2018 too. What about his situation?

I will appreciate any information, Thank you!

I applied for the position and can anyone give me some advice on how long it takes to be randomly selected from the list and i saw other postings saying that a list is creating also for TA Cleaners from the same list of Traffic Checkers. How do they determine this cleaner list? Any info would be greatly appreciated. :D

Signal maintainer/ car inspector practical exam

I recently took the signal maintainer practical skills test and I have a few questions.

1. How is the test graded? Is each portion of the test graded differently? Example: valve= 30% wire circuit=50%

2. Usually about how long will it take to hear back if you passed or not?

I passed every part, but I don't think I did to well on the troubleshooting... I kept second guessing myself and I wasn't 100% sure that there was a certain problem so I believe I only correctly found one trouble out of the 3. But for the circuit I completed on time and the lights turnt on and the valve I followed all instructions and didn't skip any steps.

My husband took the conductor test two years ago. Co-workers are being called who are lower on the list than he is fpe the April class. He just called DCAS and the hotline said he is on outstanding certification at number 278 on the list. Any idea what this means? He is going back tonight after a week off for vacation. Hopefully we find more info asap. I was just hoping for more answers here sooner.

Conductor Promotional Exam

My husband got demoted from Supply/Logistics to Cleaner back in 2014.  He immediately took the conductor promotional exam in 2014.  They are currently calling people from the established list.  He was number 265 on a list of about 600 something people.  Apparently only 60 or so people were called for 3 classes in April.  He was skipped over as well as many other people.  Does this have anything to do with his demotion?  He is still in "outstanding certification" on DCAS.  What are the odds of his number getting called?  Can he be reconsidered if all positions are not filled?
